Qum

The silk carpets from the Holy City of Ghom are well known; however, high-quality wool carpets are also woven in Ghom. Floral medallion patterns, field patterns and the renowned hunting scene motif ("Shekar-Gah"), coupled with an accurately arranged knot structure, typify Ghom carpets. Knot densities range from 350,000 up to 700,000 knots per square meter.
