Abadeh

Description

Abadeh

Abadeh is a rather small knotting area, but has been very popular among collectors and connoisseurs for decades. The carpets from this region are of good quality, they have a firm ground weave and are very hard-wearing. The short pile and the filigree patterned inner field are characteristic of these Persian carpets. They are produced by nomads and sold on at their stopover in Abadeh. However, sedentary nomads also weave in the surrounding countryside of Abadeh, but due to the modest spatial conditions, only small to medium-sized carpets are produced.
