Beloutch

Description

Beloutch

In the far east of Persia, towards the border with Afghanistan, Baluch carpets are produced by nomads. These carpet formats were originally made for prayer rugs, but are now popular bridge carpets. Characteristic are the dark red or brown colours, the fine weave and the detailed patterns. Baluch are also produced in Afghanistan and are similar in colour, but have different pattern influences due to the heterogeneous nomadic tribes.
