Bidjar

Description

Bidjar

Bidjar is a province in the northwest of Iran, where mostly Kurdish nomads and semi-nomads live. The Bidjar carpets are almost exclusively made in traditional home work, relatively often by men, as more strength than usual is needed for the firm knotting. The Bidjar carpet is one of the most popular oriental carpets today. It is characterised by its thickness, durability and timelessness.
