Qum-Silk
Many months pass before a weaver achieves his masterpiece in silk. High-quality silk, detailed patterns and an impressive knotting density take a lot of time. The most exclusive silk carpets come from Ghom and sometimes have 1 million knots per square metre and more. Only a few weavers possess this dexterity to knot fine silk yarns around the silk warps. Persian silk carpets are durable, yet the demanding production should be appreciated with the necessary care.
